The United New Jersey Railroad and Canal Company was incorporated under special acts of the State of New Jersey, February 27, 1867, and March 14, 1872, authorizing the filing of articles of consolidation, which was done May 18, 1872, for the purpose of consolidating the property, rights, and franchises of The Camden and Amboy Rail Road and Transportation Company, The Delaware and Raritan Canal Company and The New Jersey Rail Road and Transportation Company. The line eventually fell under the control of the Mighty Pennsylvania!
