Hide's Franklin Mineral Spring and Hotel Company

The company was founded by Samuel Hides, a blacksmith and spiritualist, who originally organized the Franklin Spring Company in 1868, having been directed by the spirit of Benjamin Franklin to drill at Hides' property on Malta Avenue, Ballston Spa, in 1867.
