Deltona Corporation develops master-planned communities, specializing in central Florida. The firm's active developments are its flagship Marion Oaks (a 10,000-resident subdivision in Ocala) and Sunny Hills Community in Washington County. Deltona has developed and sold eight other Florida communities since it was founded in 1962 by the Mackle family. A group of European investors -- including CEO Antony Gram -- acquired a controlling interest of the debt-laden firm in 1992; Gram took Deltona private in 2004. Company offices are located in Ocala.
