Carthage, Watertown & Sackets Harbor Railroad Company

This line was incorporated on February 5, 1869 and opened lines to Watertown in 1873 and to Sackets Harbor in 1874. It eventually fell under the control of the Rome, Watertown & Ogdensburg Railroad and then the Utica & Black River Railroad, which in turn, became part of the mighty New York Central. The line was abandoned in 1949.
