This company was founded in 1887 by Edward B. Leigh, and was a descendant of the National Hollow Brake Beam Company. During its first 20 years, this firm sold over six million brake beams. Though the company was founded in Chicago, it was actually incorporated and ultimately declared bankrupt in Dane County, Wisconsin. The company also had a plant in Detroit.
