What is Scripophily?

Scripophily (skri-pof'u-lee) is the study and collection of stocks and bonds. A specialized field of numismatics, scripophily is an interesting area of collecting due to both the inherent beauty of some historical documents as well as the interesting historical context of each document. Some stock certificates are excellent examples of engraving.

Do your certificates have any value on today's stock market?

No - all certificates are sold as collectible pieces, and hold only "collectible" value.

Are your certificates genuine or reproductions?

All certificates sold in our store are guaranteed to be genuine - we do not sell reproductions!! Should ever find that a certificate you purchased from us is not authentic, it may be returned at any time for a full refund (including shipping costs).

Do you purchase collectible stocks and bonds?

Absolutely! We are always looking to acquire new items either via purchase or trade. Please feel free to e-mail us should you have any items you are looking to sell or trade.

What are the condition grades of your stocks and bonds?

All of our certificates are guaranteed to be original - we do not offer any reproductions! Should you ever determine that a piece you purchased from us is not original, it may be returned to us at any time for a complete refund of the purchase price and any related shipping charges. Certificates generally are offered in one of five categories: 1) Issued / Canceled - these pieces were actually issued by the company during the course of the company's existence. The piece was eventually "cashed in" by the owner and has some sort of cancellation mark(s) - usually in the form of a punch, stamp, pen or cut cancel mark. 2) Issued / Uncanceled - these pieces were also issued by the company during the course of the their existence, however the certificate was never redeemed and holds no cancelation markings. 3) Unissued / Uncanceled - these certificates were never issued or canceled and are usually blank. Most pieces in this category are in excellent, crisp condition. 4) Unissued / Canceled - also never issued, but carrying cancelations similar in nature to those described in item #1 above. 5) Specimen - a specimen is a certificate distributed to the company by the printer as a "proof" copy for review. The company would then determine if the piece meets their requirements, and authorize printing of the full run of certificates needed for the offering to the general public. All of the certificates we offer have no value in today's stock market - they are offered strictly as collectible pieces.

What are your shipping charges?

Shipping is $3.50 to the United States; $4.50 to Canada; and $8.50 to the rest of the world. All shipments are sent via the United States Postal Service and include insurance for the full purchase price. Multiple purchases may be combined at no additional cost.

Can I combine multiple purchases and pay a single shipping charge?

Yes. Our shipping costs are fixed at $3.50 to United States addresses; $4.50 to Canada; and $8.50 to the rest of the world - no matter how many certificates you purchase!

Do you insure shipments against loss or damage?

Yes. All shipments include full insurance equivalent to the purchase price of your merchandise.

What is your return policy?

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. With this principle in mind, any item may be returned for any reason within 30 days of receipt for a refund of the original purchase price. Shipping charges are not refundable.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, PayPal, money orders, and personal checks. Personal checks are held a minimum of 7 days to allow funds to clear. There is a $30 fee charged for any checks returned to us as unpaid.

Is your credit card processing secure?

We have enlisted the services of Yahoo! and Chase Paymentech to ensure your credit card information remains safe and secure. Paymentech's customer base includes more than 541,000 merchants with nearly 1 million locations across the United States and Canada, including many of the top etailers, Internet service providers (ISPs), catalogers and petroleum marketers. Chase Paymentech currently processes approximately 15.5 billion transactions annually with more than $560 billion in annual bankcard and debit volume in both the United States and Canada.

How long will it take for my items to arrive?

We make every effort to ship all orders within 24 hours of receipt of your order. From there, since we are shipping from the east coast, you an expect your merchandise within 2 days on the east coast, 3 to 4 days in the midwest and 4 to 5 days on the west coast, and in Hawaii and Alaska. International shipments will in all likelihood take a minimum of 7 to 10 days to arrive.

All certificates are sold only as collectible pieces, as they are either canceled or obsolete. Certificates carry no value on any of today's financial indexes and no transfer of ownership is implied. Unless otherwise indicated, images are representative of the piece(s) you will receive.
